Blood, Sweat, and Queers from BitchTapes on 8tracks.

I have now been here for exactly a month, and we're finally getting consistently beautiful weather. I'm glad that person who said the weather would be literally perfect after July 4th wasn't lying. But really. The ten-day forecast predicts sun every single day with a 0% chance of rain. You heard me correctly, 0% chance. Portland, I see what y'all have been looking forward to. I sure as heck wouldn't want to be boiling in the heatwave in the mid-Atlantic right now. That is not what the precious pomp on my head needs. Nooooo, thank you.

So, now that things are getting hot 'n' sweaty, you need to be geared up, right? Sun block, check. Muscle tee, check. Cut-off shorts, check. Phresh summer haircut, check. Comfy dancing shoes, check. Cuties to dance with... wait, did I say geared up? I meant queered up. Here's a bunch of jams by some super fun queer folx who will help you get yr Portland (or wherever you are) summer officially rollin'. Hey, and some of these steamy queers are playing this summer in a town maybe near you! Yay!

1. "Broken Record" - P.S. Eliot
Okay, so maybe they're not touring, possibly ever again, but you have the memories, right? Don't just blare them through your computer speakers and cry quietly to yourself—get up and dance!

2. "Pony" - TacocaT
Not to be confused with the Ginuwine song.

3. "I Can Dream the Rest Away" - Slutever
Slutever is touring with TacocaT all over the mid-Atlantic. Right now. Get off yr butts and go get sweaty!

4. "Outerspace" - NOUN
Marissa Paternoster sure can shread. Catch her with Screaming Females this month at C.L.I.T. Fest in New Jersey, and also at a bunch of other places.

5. "The Rind" - Aye Nako
Speaking of folks you can catch at C.L.I.T. Fest, Aye Nako is another one. Just an F.Y.I., "aye nako" or "ay nako" is a Filipino exclamation that basically means "oh my gosh." So now that you know this, you can impress your Filipino friends and say "Ay, nako! Did you hear that Aye Nako is playing in Brooklyn next week?"

6. "Crushin'" - Sourpatch
Summer lovin' anyone? Take yr crush to a Sourpatch show this summer because they're touring and will probably be playing near you if you live on the West Coast somewhere.

7. "Make Out" - Tender Forever
GET IT. MAKE OUT. SUMMER IS FOR MAKING OUT (only if you want to).

8. "Fists Up" - The Blow
Khaela Maricich doesn't live in Portland anymore, but that doesn't make her any less of a summer (and all the time) staple.

9. "Make Him Pay" - MEN
Because what's a queer party without JD Samson? Seriously though. It would be like having chocolate chip cookies with no chocolate chips.

10. How Beautiful You Are - Lovers
This song is the cutest. Also, these tender Portlanders are playing at the Clinton Street Fair on Saturday, July 28th, and trust me, you don't want to miss them.
